ARTIFACTS – SYSTEMS - TECHNOLOGY

“We want to establish a plumbing timeline,” says John Cannistraro Jr., President of J.C. Cannistraro, LLC and PHCC of Greater Boston.  “The museum will exhibit the progression of plumbing through the centuries, from the earliest pieces to the modern fixtures of today.”

The historic atmosphere of The Plumbing Museum features many items that date back to the eighteenth century. Visitors travel through history and see the development of piping technology through the decades.

Exhibits include:
  • The History of Plumbing – Use our timeline to follow the evolution of plumbing.

  • Plumbing Systems – Learn about water mains, septic, leaching field, waterless, recycling and gray water systems.
  • Technology – Find out how plumbers both past and present have constructed plumbing systems.
  • Machine Shop – Interact with demonstrators who provide live, hands-on workshops for various tools of the trade.

  • Museum Library – Access resources including vintage periodicals and supply catalogs.
